“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”

~Buddha

No one person, place or thing in this life is constant perfection. There is ebb and flow, give and take, constant change in all things.

Living in balance with the disappointment that we feel in any one particular moment of our life is the challenge that we all face as walkers on the path toward connection with spirit.

Remembering our true divine nature, even amidst the ravages of the modern world, is the compass that will guide us to a steady stride on a wobbly path. We have all chosen to incarnate NOW, here in THIS body, in THIS life.

The WHY is not a quest, it is a process. Living to our highest capability, with the most open and loving heart that we can, at all times, is the only thing that will bring us to the answer. And the answer WILL come, at the end of a life well-lived.

Only then can we know the true value of the grievances and graces that have been bestowed upon us by our creator/creatrix, the ALL consciousness that is universal love and awareness.

What guides us is our connection to that divinity, a connection which we each possess, every moment of our life. Nothing external, or internal for that matter, can diminish this sacred connection. All that is diminished is our AWARENESS of the divine connection.

How can we maintain this awareness? How can we be divine even in the most harrowing of moments? By consulting our own inner compass. By checking in with that small, honest voice inside of ourself. This is the spirit, the heart, the higher self, whatever you wish to call it.

This voice of truth, of universal love and spirit is always with us, always speaking. The trouble in hearing it lies only in remembering to listen.

This voice does not have any connection at all to the Ego, that self-preserving, self-aggrandizing voice that comes installed along with our physical body. This “Ego” is a standard option, one that we don’t necessarily ask for but which, nevertheless, we become dependent upon once we start driving the car, so to speak.

True inner voice speaks in tender ways. It is a gentle guide. It does not scream “No!” at us from every corner. True inner voice does not chastise or seek to employ fear as a means of manipulating decision-making.

True self, the inner compass, remains constant and balanced at all times. It is the conscience observer, the neutral witness to all the happenings on the path of your life.

It can understand how YOU think of things as negative or positive, but IT does not hold opinions such as these.

The inner compass can see the benefit in all things, can remain calm and still, remain whole, even when events transpire that attempt to rip the “self” -the Ego- in pieces.

This is why learning to listen, to tap into the voice of the inner compass is so central to spiritual development. Our seeking may be outward but, on a spiritual path, our answers lie inward.

When we act from Ego, without giving the true inner compass a say in proceedings, we are never sure of ourself, never know if the step we are about to take is the right step. Self-doubt, naturally, ensues.

But imagine if you could call on a friend, someone that you think of as wise and fair. Imagine being able to always have an objective opinion, uncolored by desire or emotion, someone who could give you a balanced, unbiased point-of-view on every decision that you were faced with. (A friend who never says “I told you so.”)

That would be so comforting, wouldn’t it? You would feel so much more secure in your decisions then.

Well luckily you have a friend like that, and I do, everyone does. It is the true self, the inner voice, the spirit compass. We can choose to let it guide us any day, in any situation, and it will.

STOP, for a flash of a moment, the troubles (whatever they may be) that are reeling around in your conscious, Ego-centered mind. Let the subtle, true voice of your inner compass say a line. Let the spiritual observer speak for just half of a half of moment.

That one line from your inner self may very well change circumstances, and point your energies in a whole new direction. A direction of peace and acceptance, a realization of the opportunities and options that the universe has laid before you.

Herein lies the lessons that you chose for your delicate soul in this physical plane. Take that inner peace and accept the true value of it.

That is the basis of freedom from suffering.

“I have always been regretting that I was not as wise as the day I was born. ”
~ Henry David Thoreau, 19th-century Writer, Naturalist & Philosopher

And, with hand on my heart, I reemerge from human creation to bring forth this other brief creation…

It has been several months since any new articles have been appearing here on Awaken Light and I have finally stepped into the daylight to birth this story for you today.

My absence has been both spiritually and physically prescribed for me by the universe. My beloved soul mate, Serge, and I are, at present, expecting our first child. A miraculous turn-of-events and a unique shift in his, and my, daily focus.

The metamorphosis going on within my body has drawn all of my energy and attention for many months now. All spiritual pursuits have been swept aside and my grasp on myself has been necessarily loosened. The gauntlet has been thrown down that has challenged us both to simply allow and embrace, as change and beauty have taken on different meanings in our lives, day by day.

Though some of my spiritually-minded, health conscious friends have managed to keep up with these ideals during pregnancy, I myself cannot imagine yoga or meditation in the same light at the present moment. What inspires me has become much more simple than that. Peaceful morning mist on the seashore, a hearty home-cooked meal, the words of ancient poets and the sound of a baby’s heartbeat. These are the keys to my heart while in pregnancy. Some may call it mundane, but I see it as a different form of the One divine.

Of course, there is certainly nothing mundane about two souls mingling their energies in loving creation and then inviting another divine spirit to inhabit that creation. It is, however, a very physical process. It can remove one, somewhat involuntarily, from dwelling on the spiritual mysteries of life and ground you sharply in physicality, at least for a time.

When I look upon this process with awareness and non-judgement I can see its mechanisms more clearly. For the one carrying the child, and I think for the fathering partner as well, it is a path-working, a catharsis, requiring reassessment of both self and selflessness. The shamans would recognize it as a meeting with inner truth.

As you grapple with this life-changing event, you begin to assess your own childhood, your experiences with children, how you became the adult that you are, and also what you still wish to achieve in life. This is deep and penetrating work, not to be tackled by the faint-hearted. At the same time you are forced to assess very mundane realities such as finances, living arrangements, time management, medical insurance and any number of other real world concerns. Some of these things will require attention and drastic change in the coming weeks and months.

Meanwhile, inside the womb, the baby is taking all that it can from the mother, in terms of energy, nutrients, etc… What mattered to Mom before may be of little consequence during the growth phases of pregnancy. Friends and family may find this hard to absorb, but so does Mom. Certainly her diet, physical and spiritual states are very important for herself and the growing baby. But if this was a main focus before pregnancy, she may feel unable or unwilling to pay attention to it now. Or, if work, business, socializing, crafting, gardening or other such pursuits were her mainstay beforehand, she may now become much more insular, preferring to focus on walking, reading, cooking, planning and other new pursuits.

A woman in transition from maidenhood to motherhood is not a predictable element, because in essence she is no longer the same person. She is becoming herself, all over again.

I have found that, during this pregnancy, I am still willing and able to do some of the spiritual things that took up much of my life before, but that I am drawing within much more. I only feel comfortable carrying on channeling or meditation for myself, by myself, or perhaps just a few family members and friends.

I feel certain that this is more of a learning phase than a permanent change. A woman entering motherhood must learn how to prioritize and how to focus first on the home sphere if she is to maintain a happy relationship with her partner and to also raise a child who feels that they are loved and appreciated and who feels confident in asserting themselves in the home environment.

Talking to other pregnant friends and to loved ones who have recently become mothers, I see two distinct mindframes at work. The one says that becoming a parent is hard work, an inconvenience, something that they wish they could undo. The other takes in stride both the pregnancy and the changes that occur in life after birth, embracing and allowing the child-rearing to become a positive life shift. I don’t judge these sentiments, as I can see arguments on both sides of the case, depending on your point-of-view.

I do not know where I presently, or will later, fall on this scale. I know that the “aches and pains” of pregnancy have not really been that for me. I see how nature carries out its cycles effortlessly and how one need only “go with the flow” to have a joyful and exciting experience along the way. My plans for the future have changed, but not dramatically. Writing, channeling, teaching and simplifying are all still major aspects of the life I am building.

On this inward journey I have reassessed my relationship with myself, and am still drawing conclusions there. I have reassessed my relationship with the past and now see it for the abstract thing that it is, meaning it is no longer happening to me over-and-over again in my head. I have reassessed my relationship with other women and discovered that my being particular about who I surround myself with is, indeed, the right thing for my spirt and my family. In short, the path-working has been both troubling and freeing and I feel a much more personal understanding of why the drab-looking cocoon is required before the world can be beautified by the butterfly.

At the same time that I, myself, have been experiencing a downshift in my normal spiritual and worldly pursuits, I have felt a definite upswing in other abilities and interests. The deepening of empathy in pregnancy has been one of the most surprising things to me. One’s connection to all life becomes much more obvious. For me, it resulted in extreme levels of sensitivity to pain and suffering. (Even more sensitive than I was to begin with…which is quite a bit.)

I can no longer watch movies or news programs that gave me no trouble before. Any form of emotional upset, either real or pretend, on the part of other people, has become so deeply scarring that I have to turn away, even from relatively innocuos things such as teeny-bopper movies and political commentary shows. Once you begin walking the path toward motherhood, you can see that any child could be your child, any creation your creation. You wouldn’t want them to suffer and thinking of it pains your heart.

Likewise, as your pregnancy carries onward and you see (3-D ultrasounds are miraculous) or feel your baby for the first time, you might begin to equate yourself with the Earth, or the Universe. It is a fitting metaphor and no doubt intentional on the part of the Creators. Inside of you, where all the the water and nutrients that you take in dwell, you are creating an unseen future life. It will grow and change, all within a dark, wet, warm and stable world. But, when the time is right, just like the seedling below ground, it will emerge from that reality into the opposite world. Once it comes into this bright, dry, cool and changeable world, it cannot go back. All creation must always move forward, and you are the one on whom it will rely for safety, love and sustenance. Each woman who gives birth comes to know the position of the life-giving Mother Earth.

Thus, among other things, I have become so very tied to nature and her generously provided resources. What I have come to know for myself is that working with nature, whether it be through gardening, hiking, cooking, camping, ecology, is essential to a human being’s sense of peace, calm and well-being. One day spent in silence by a lakeshore can erase months of stress and toil in a big city office. We have all the we need, but we have forgotten the difference between need and want.

What I need is calm, quality time with my family. Somehow this is as clear as crystal now. My husband and I can find time everyday to talk to the tummy-dweller and read the same storybook over-and-over, but before I could not make the same five minutes for creating a podcast or cooking a home-made breakfast. I also need to be out in nature, a little bit, every day. Camping, canoeing and walking on beaches have all become a big part of how I see myself when I see a me that is at peace.

What I want is for us all to be forever happy, healthy and in fully-aware love with each other. I also want a 100-acre farmstead, mortgage-free, to write a best seller and to become an Irish citizen some day. Laughable but, easy to simplify…if you get what you need, then not getting what you want is easier to accept. Or as John Lennon said. “All you need is love.”

Will everything, as an adult or as a parent, always work out to my personal benefit? Doubtful.

Will I deal gracefully with any ups and downs that are encountered along the way? Maybe, maybe not.

Will I achieve all that I dream of and make a better life for myself, my husband and children? Hopefully so.

Will birth, whether at home or in the hospital, be as easy as taking a pee. Anything is possible.

What is definite is that I have the greatest of faith in nature, in my body, in love and in my spirit to carry me through and teach me beautiful lessons along the way. Perhaps waiting to know myself before having children has aided in shaping the positive feelings that I have about impending parenthood and will be helpful in the adjustments beyond. I’d like to think so.

“Body and spirit are twins: God only knows which is which”
~ Algernon Charles Swinburne, 19th-Century English Poet

Note: I have changed some names and identifying information in this story, owing to the fact that I do not share highly personal information belonging to my clients.

——————————————————————————–

As my years of channeling carry on and my professional channellings increase, I every once in a while stumble into a spiritual situation that I have never experienced before.

My gifts keep growing and, every time that I think I’ve seen it all, things still crop up that are completely new and foreign to me.

I recently had a gentleman order a reading for more guidance on his own path of personal growth and healing…nothing out of the ordinary there.

I read his email and rewrote the questions so that they would be more likely to illicit good answers…again, pretty run-of-the-mill.

Several days later I sat down to do the reading and asked for any guides to come forward and I felt one energy arrive…good, but normal.

But, when I asked this energy its name, that is when something weird happened. (Keep in mind that I am a witch, a channel and a spirit medium…I don’t say WEIRD very often.)

I asked the guide’s name and (in two distinctly different voices) he said first, “Jimmy Joe” and then immediately, “Jimmy Ray.”

I asked again. He said firmly, “Jimmy Joe.” And then in another voice firmly said, “Jimmy Ray.”

This was strange to me. It was a single energy, I was sure of it. But how could it not know its own name?

So I assessed the feeling from each name. Jimmy Joe, when I said it to myself in conjunction with the client’s name, Mitchell, just sounded like such a dark energy. It felt too heavy to be Mitchell’s guide. Jimmy Ray, on the other hand, seemed much lighter and seemed to mesh better with Mitch’s energy.

I asked the guide, “May I call you, Jimmy Ray?” To which he replied, “Yes, that is my name.”

Okay, problem solved. And from that point forward it was a normal channeled reading. Lots of useful information came through about Mitch’s spiritual healing, his personal triumphs and things he could do to progress further in the future.

As per usual I was asked a few questions for the afterword to the reading session, in which I talked about this strange phenomena and wondered aloud if these were some odd pair of twin guides.

I emailed the audio of the reading to the client and requested that he take some time to send a brief feedback.

Not too long later I got an explanation. Mitch is a TWIN. He has a twin brother. “Ahhhhh…I see” I thought to myself.

I have never read for a twin or twins of any kind before. This was a new thing for me, and boy was I interested.

Before I had even had the chance to ponder this for very long, another order for a reading came in from a new client…Mitch’s brother Mike.

Bingo!

He had to be wondering the same thing I was wondering…ever since I read Mitchell’s email.

I waited a few days for things to calm down, did some other readings for different clients. Then I read Mikes email, wrote out the questions and sat down to do his reading.

Everything went normal, I asked for any of his guides to come through and when one did I asked his name.

“Jimmy Joe,” he answered. (Mmm-hmm…I got goosebumps too.)

This time, it was the same-feeling energy, but with completely different tone of voice, completely different strengths etc. This time Jimmy-Joe did not seem like a darker or heavier energy at all. He seemed quite light, quite perfectly attuned to Mike’s energy.

But, as an experiment I now tried (in my head) to pair Mike’s energy with that of the previous guide, Jimmy-Ray. This time Jimmy-Ray seemed to be the wrong one, the dark and heavy one…completely inappropriate for Mike’s energy, though he had been so light when I channeled for Mitchell.

There was a definite way of telling which guide belonged to which twin, simply by their energy signatures. (Cool.)

Once I had emailed Mike the reading audio, he let me know that neither he nor Mitchell was surprised to find out that Jimmy-Joe was Mike’s guide.

Well maybe they weren’t but I sure was!

What was the nature of this spiritual reality that I was dealing with? Were these twin souls, such a soul mates? Were they a split soul, as can happen with either severe physical or spiritual trauma? Were they simply one guide offering up different strengths and vibrations of energy for these two individual siblings?

I do not know the answers to these questions and every time that I try to answer them I simply end up with more questions.

But I now am curious about a question which never much struck my fancy before, what is the spiritual nature of twins and multiples?

Anyone know the answer?

This article is a repost from our old blog – originally dated May 2008.
—————————————————————————————–

Recently I wrote about my experience with shamanic healing and how it made me feel. I knew at the end of it that something had changed in me, in my energy field.

It took a few days to understand what that thing was and for the advice that the healer gave me to be really processed.

But, once I had settled a bit and could see and feel the whole thing objectively, it became apparent that the shift in me was the return of my inner child. Or rather the acceptance of that piece of energy in conjunction with the rest of my energy.

We do not ever deliberately release or deny our inner child, it is something that simply happens. It is gradual, the loss of our innocence and our playful side. This is the part of us which is most like spirit, for the child is not very far removed from the raw soul, having only been in flesh for a few short years.

This innocence and optimistic playful side is what many people search for in their daily lives, that hidden something that they feel is missing. Some people even perpetrate awful things against children in order to try and reconnect with, or get close to, that lost part of themselves.

What each of us really wishes for is the feeling of being complete, whole and perfect, just as we are. I now feel that the reintegration and acceptance of our child-like nature is a key step in achieving this feeling of wholeness, and thus freedom and joy.

What occurred to me after this healing is that Little Vera had come home, desiring to reconnect with me on my journey towards lightness and ascension. There was a slight tingling, a glow of sorts, in my stomach near to my solar plexus.

And I remembered that Jay, my shamanic healer, had suggested that I put my hand on that region each morning upon awaking and welcome the part of me that had returned. That I should give that energy tender and loving thoughts throughout my day.

The energy was definitely a playful one, one that wanted to dance and sing like no one was watching!

These observations, along with the fact that this same part of my energy seemed to have a withdrawing reaction to any conflict, anxiety or stress, made me realize that it was a child. My inner child, the true me, who I remember being before the care for others opinions, and the need to “behave properly” in order to please the adult world, ever set in. So I call it: “Little Vera.”

I decided right then and there that I would love her and protect her, embrace her and let her play, a little bit every day. I would not judge her on her impulses or try and make her conform to my will. I would not make her promises that I cannot keep or speak harshly to her. These are things that made her shrink and run away as I grew up.

Now that I knew what I wanted to do, to keep this innocent and magical part of me alive and intact, I had to go about figuring out how to do that.

It was easier than I thought, because as I lay, with my hand on my abdomen, breathing in deeply and speaking to Little Vera, I asked her what we could do together that would be fun for her.

She answered and gave me several different clues. First we could color and draw together. The ballet fairy that she drew as a result was very fun and colorful indeed, the kind of thing that your parents would hang on the fridge when you were small. (Which is where we hung it in our flat.)

I try to take Little Vera for a walk everyday, we watch butterflies and smell flowers and listen the birds sing.

There are days when my concern for the adult world has me forget to spend time as the spiritual child within me, but I place my hand on my abdomen before bed and feel that energy fill me up, lest I lose it again. If you hold your inner child close to you, they will hold you close to them in return, reminding you of the magic and joy in this world.

There are therapies out there that involve connecting with your inner child and re-parenting it, as you should have been parented but perhaps were not. It is a way of soothing your wounded spirit and of releasing the negative patterns that effect your ability to feel happy and confident as an adult. I do feel that I may be able to benefit from this approach, but perhaps now it is not necessary.

What we should do, as responsible adults, is to remember that we are all children inside, because time is now, there is no past, or future, all occurs simultaneously. We should be mindful always that children recoil and become upset by any forms of violence, conflict, anger, stress and worry.

When we find ourselves in these situations, the most important thing that we can do is to pause for a moment, put our hands on our stomach and tell “Little Brian” or “Little Emily” that it is going to be okay, that they don’t have to worry, that we will take care of things and that they are safe.

You will find that the more consideration and comfort that you give to that spiritual inner child of yours, the more comforted your adult self will feel and the more considerate the world will become.

I do not know if this approach to spiritual wholeness can bring healing to all of our physical and emotional ailments. And I do not know if this behavior can bring a lasting world peace.

What I do know is that we can find a greater measure of inner peace for ourselves by being whole, by accepting and integrating every aspect of ourselves. This is the only true balance and peace to be found, within yourself.

We can each benefit immensely by spending a little more time in our “child mind,” from playing and not worrying about the opinions of others, from dancing to some silly music, singing “I’m a Little Teapot,” drawing a fairy or just climbing a tree.

You do not have to have inner dialog with your child self, but it helps. If this is too weird for you, here are some suggestions for active ways to reconnect with your own inner child:

- Play dress up, even if its not Halloween
– Lay in the grass and make shapes of the clouds
– Dance like no one is watching, even when they are
– Draw a frog, a rainbow or a puppy
– Eat cookies for breakfast, occasionally
– Sing a childhood song, in a child’s voice
– Color on a sidewalk with chalk
– Use a straw to blow bubbles in your drink
– Swing from a tree and make Tarzan sounds
– Make a sand castle, so what if you’re 42?

Happy Playing!!!

Today started out quite foggy and dreary, but now it seems to be brightening and drying up.

After months of focusing on my diet and introducing a vegetarian lifestyle, I begin now to bring my focus to my physicality.

As part of that process, I have decided to stop dabbling in Yoga at home and to actually go out and join a class.

I have chosen Sivananda style Yoga, partly out of a lack of options and partly out of what I learned about it during my research of yoga styles. It seems very balanced for me, who I am and what I believe.

I have just returned home after my first 2-hour class, feeling invigorated (and a bit out-of-shape) and looking at things with more open eyes.

I don’t know how long this buzz will last, so I will take this opportunity to write a post about what I have recently been observing.

~

So many people, myself included, spend a great deal of their spiritual life or spiritual intentions attempting to find a connection with God, the Creator, the Divine One. We look for it outside of ourself, we expect and hope for grace and guidance to come TO us.

For some religions GOD is something that one must earn, something that one attains at the end of life. GOD is something that you must believe in, dedicate to and look for. GOD wants you to teach others to believe in him, to bring others to the path of seeking for him as well.

But God exists for you, already, within yourself. SO that is the only place that we can and should cultivate our connection.

But by its nature, the Creator is in all things. You are now, and have always been, God. God is in you and is in me. The oneness of all creation never ceases, not for one moment, no matter the circumstances.

The beauty of creation (ie. All that the creator has created) is that it is limitless. Creation has all possibility, there is no limitation to the forms that it may take.

I feel this truth acutely today. How the beauty and magic of existence is equal in both the flower and the thorn, in both the new leaf of this springtime and the old dried leaves of autumns past.

The death and the birth are equally magnificent, possessing equal mystery and magic. For without the one, there could not be the other. There could not be constant birth, for we live on a limited plane, a planet that is not ever-spacious. Thus death is equally beautiful. The magic of creation is the balance in all things. God’s loving creation, the true nature of the Creator, is present in ALL, whether light or dark.

We may perceive one set of creations as being more positive or more valuable than others, but this is only our perception, not necessarily a truth.

Both the water and the plastic bottle in which it is carried are a beautiful creation of God. They are equally amazing and loving in their existence despite any attributes that they may or may not possess. Goodness and Godness are the same thing, and all is of God.

So, if God is in all things equally, without exception, it is not wrong to say that you are God, as am I.

We are all of the same Creator. You and I, the flowers and the thorns, the dog and his feces, the mosquito and any disease that it may carry, the clouds and the sun.

Owing to this knowledge that the perceived attributes, behaviors and thoughts of a person or thing can never diminish the true Godhood that it possesses, it must be true that no action or thought, feeling or mistake that you ever make can diminish your true divine nature.

You are good. You are God. That makes you divinely good, no matter what.

Let yourself embrace both the vastness and the simplicity of this reality.

In speaking it we can feel the inner truth of it and begin to let go of the pain and heaviness that we have carried with us for so long in our hearts and minds.

At every moment your inner nature is one of divine goodness, even should you choose to act in a way that you or others perceive as not good.

Accepting your innate goodness, bestowed upon you by your very creation and existence, allows you to put down all of the collected “badness” that you have carried. You no longer have to accept that “badness” as who you are. It is simply what you have done or experienced, or what others have done and experienced, but it is not a living “thing” that you must tend to and care for. You are not required to carry it with you and make it your own.

Our badness, or our conception of our badness, is merely an energy. It has been attached to us only by our acceptance of its truth. When we realize that the ultimate truth is that of our divine goodness, we may see the untruth of our continued badness and be freed of its burden.

Like both the flower and the thorn, our true inner self as well as our outward actions and experiences are divine.

I am beginning to integrate this understanding into my view of myself and my purpose and to train my Ego-mind to treat me as a divine spirit instead of a collection of actions and thoughts.

You are welcome to accept the same process yourselves.

Blessings.

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”
~Buddha

Abandon all delusion and allow yourself to feel the true nature of your being. You are light, once and always. You are all light and only light. That is the truth of creation and being. What is light is also dark for light IS dark incarnate. From darkness came creation and all creation is but forms of light.

Peace is attainable within by your admission that all ambition and desire is a falsehood, a set of clothes that the soul wears while in this limited physical form, for however brief that form lives. But all clothes may and must be discarded in order for the truth of your freedom to permeate your existence and for the original naked nature of your soul to return to its place at the forefront of your being.

Grasp only onto a knowledge if it continues to serve this ultimate goal. Let go all perceptions of the self to which you hold dear for they are simply manifestations of this clothing which keeps you from true harmony and peace with your fellow travelers on this spiritual journey.

This life and its self are temporary rest stops, brief obstacles on the climb within a greater journey and the ultimate destination.

Guises worn by yourself and others fall away and crumble of their own accord at all times. Why should you wait for destruction of your preconceived ideals to descend from outside of you and set you free in shock and pain when you can choose now to destroy the strength and falsehood of these guises willfully, with love and acceptance.

Hope is tied in all ways, not merely to belief, but to the knowing that we are spirit and raw creation. We are light and from light all things energetic and material are born. Thus as light we are the ultimate creators of our own form, our own prosperity, our own destinies.

Look to nothing outside of yourself for proof of your true nature. Look for nothing outside of yourself for the true nature of your godliness. Look for nothing outside of yourself for your heart’s desires to manifest. Look within for the true source of both abundance and scarcity, heath and illness, joy and suffering.

You are connected at all times to the magnificent and endless divine from whence all that is has sprung, and in your voice is its words. Listen to yourself and you are indeed listening to the council of the All God which you so often seek. The creator is you and you are your best guide.

Fear nothing outside of yourself for all that is without is also within you. All creation comes from one and is one, hearing many voices of the one voice within. All beats are the same beat, all drums beat by one hand.

Collective creation is the savior and will at all times, in all ways, prevail above the perceived pattern of collective destruction.

When can one individual make any difference except to sing deep into the hearts of the souls and true light of others? No change ever came without this authentic song being sung.

Speak into the ears and you will be rewarded with ignorance. Speak into the eyes and you will not be seen. Speak into the ego and await the slamming of a door, but speak into the true spirit of another and there will be a great awakening such as no painter could ever paint, no composer could ever play and no songsmith could ever croon.

When all seems despair laugh out loud at your arrogance and your innocence for you can never create that which is not in harmony with the will of the universe. You cannot destroy that which is deemed worthy to live. You have all of the power that the All God and the light within you possess and yet you have no power at all.

See the truth in this and you will see that greatness with which you have been endowed, which you have chosen to incarnate here and now in order to experience. Only your kind, in your time can create the ultimate light, the ultimate joy, the ultimate prosperity.

No roadblocks stand before any of you and when you see them, do not dwell for they are merely an illusion. A folly. Admire them and then giggle at there simplicity as you would with any folly…knowing that it does not belong, that it is not what it seems and that it was built, though beautifully, for nothing more than to deceive the eye, to trick the mind into acknowledging its solid, realistic existence.

We are going now but will return with more for you, for your guidance, your reworking, your reawakening and your actualization.

You are the only truth, the only light and you are all one.

Go now and enter into the contract of your soul, the agreement that you are indeed spirit and that all else is but a tool, a learning tool and a trick of perception…to be seen, accepted and released back into the great, dark creative ether from which all light and life has come.

Peace.

“I am a part of all that I have met.”
~Alfred, Lord Tennyson, 1809-1892, Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom

You are my brother one. I am your sister one. The divine ALL from whence we came is calling upon us to ascend, to raise our personal vibration along with our awareness and begin to come together to show others the way of healing, of community.

We must take our awareness, which is still rather a rare gift, and use it to heal the planet, to save whomever we can by helping them to awaken to their own true divine connection and to accept the truth on a very real level, that we are all ONE. That each of us is just a simple expression of one tiny aspect of a larger, limitless whole. We are like molecules in the body of eternity, but molecules with all the creative and loving powers of that whole.

We can teach others verbally, or with written words, about light energy as creation, about the existence of the ALL that is all we see and more, or we can teach others by the laying on of hands. Some are open to these “direct understanding” methods of spiritual learning, but many are not. Are these the “sleeping” ones who will not ascend when our planet enters its true fourth-dimensional state? Perhaps. But I believe that we each have the opportunity to awaken some of them, and without any true forcing of the topic at hand.

The answer, as it is to all things, is light and vibration. We may carry ourselves in the mode of integrity and the mode of spiritual awareness, as most of you reading this already do, and by so doing we may unintentionally give off an energy that makes those “sleepers” who are wakeable become curious or in awe. They may mistakenly see you as a God, or transversely, may take you as Self-righteous. They will see what they are willing to see, but you may lead by example, so to speak, in a way that pulls them out of the closet and closer to the open window through which spiritual awareness can shine in upon them.

Yet a more proactive way that we can shake the awareness of the “sleepers” is by practicing what we preach, in all interactions, in all circumstances. You interact when you purchase a book from the cashier, you interact when you meet a stranger at a dinner party, you interact when you go to a job interview, you interact when you get pulled over for speeding, etc… Now, attempt to always emanate healing, loving, accepting energy, even when the mundane situation could be interpreted as uncomfortable or unlucky, whatever. Feel the white, yellow and pink-tinged light fill you up, pulled from a connection to the universal divine, and then let it surround you like an unseen, glowing egg. When you smile, send out a beam of that light. When you laugh or talk, let its divine truth be the sound from your lips. When you shake hands, send some of it off into the world of the other person.

Know that you are not doing anything that you should ask permission for, you are not doing anything that injures your karma, but something that improves both your own karma and the karma of the other person. Humans were initially sent here to learn how to love, but became enthralled to the glamour of the “self.” What you are doing when you consciously carry yourself in this way is returning to your own true meaning, to the ONE true purpose and reality of humankind.

At first, it will not be easy to remember to carry yourself in this way. After all, this level of vibration and understanding is most likely something that you only embrace and actually open yourself to when you are at home, comfortable, purposely exploring and learning about it. But I ask you, what good are these talents if you do not use them to the betterment of the whole world? If you hide them beneath the same armor that you have always adorned yourself with when you are out in the world interacting with other humans?

So, make a conscious effort to be emanating your loving, spiritual and healing light at all times, to all people. This will be difficult to remember and tiring to maintain at first. You must train yourself to keep in this mindset even when you are embroiled in some modern, mundane human drama, like being late for the kids school play and getting stuck in what seems like the slowest check-out line on the planet. Don’t be snippy with the check-out girl, give her a glance of love from the eternal divine, you are doing both her and yourself a longer lasting favor than nastily pointing out the obvious could ever be.

You will slowly find that doing this exercise will increase your own awareness of divinity along the way and make it easier overall for you to reach those aware levels when you sit down to meditate, channel, dream, walk the astral, etc… You will also come to experience more love and good luck, so to speak, in your own daily life. For, with each person that you send universal spiritual and love energy off to, the energy is exponentially increased in the world. This is because, generally unknowingly, that dear, special other person will carry this infinite energy off with them and express its existence, often wordlessly, to others in their life and like a piece of gossip it will fly around the globe creating positive karma and small loving creations along its way.

You have been given, by your own free choice, awareness on this globe of good and bane that others may not have access to. You have chosen and been granted this for one purpose – to heal others with its truth and to help raise the collective vibratory existence of this time and this place. Begin simply, for the benefit of the ALL and see how it unfolds in your world all the “impossible” possibilities that you have found wanting in your soul.

“I am convinced that there are universal currents of Divine Thought vibrating the ether everywhere and that any who can feel these vibrations is inspired.”
~Richard Wagner, 19th-century German Composer

The divine self is your inner life force, your true motivation for living. The divine self is what powers you and makes you wonder. It is the soul light at your core that chose to be incarnate at this point in time.

The divine or higher self is that part of you that is ever-aware. The divine self has been aware and thinking since your birth in this lifetime and since your birth in every other lifetime. The body and the physical realm, in which we dwell, are but a vehicle for the higher self.

You are here because you have chosen to be here and because the energy force, that is life and awareness, has lessons to learn and exchanges to make that can only be accomplished by taking human or manifest form.

All that is, is light.

Though it may seem as if the physics of incarnation, of being born and of living in the busy, colorful, physical world of manifestation would cut us off from knowing the divine self at our core, it does not have to be so. You may chose for it to be otherwise.

Here is how we can begin to acknowledge our divine and true core and, by so doing, begin to draw closer to our own higher self:

The first step is to embrace the existence of the divine self.

Try this exercise.

Turn off your waking mind by calming and quieting yourself.

Remove all external distractions to the best of your abilities. No radios, televisions, lawnmowers, screaming children, telephones, alarm clocks, music… nothing.

Now seat yourself comfortably and chose one of the following, either a lit candle or a mirror.

If you choose the candle, you will stare directly into its flame. If you choose the mirror, you will stare into it, scanning your whole face… You will not stare into your own eyes and you will not let the flame make your eyes unfocused (as you do with those Magic Eye puzzle images).

Instead, remain aware of you, in your body, and remain relaxed, but with the eyes still maintaining relative focus.

The candle flame is light and light is the force of all life. Everything that we think is animate, and therefore alive, is powered by light. Everything that we know to be solid, material, and therefore provably real, is only perceivable due to its reflection and absorption of light.

Mass is matter, matter is energy and energy is light. So all that is, is light.

In the case of the mirror…The image of the self is one that we both embrace and avoid.

We avoid it because we compare it to the beauty and perfection that we would hope to find in the natural world. We avoid the supposed imperfections in our physical bodies, because they make us feel unlovable, unworthy.

We never realize that imperfections are what life’s purpose is all about. Sentient energy is in its whole essence perfect and choses to be incarnate, in order to experience not only the joy and sorrow that is physical reality, but also, most purposefully, to experience the joy and sorrow that is imperfection and to learn to give off and believe in the bright, universal light of unconditional love, in spite of the sorrows and imperfections.

Only by this process can true lessons be learned and one come closer to ascension or reintegration with the ALL, an infinite and sentient energy form which all that has been, and all that will ever be, is derived. The ALL is the “Creator”, the “Source”, it is neither male nor female but simply IS. The ALL is ever-present, as are all light beings that derive from its source. That means you and I, our light and our awareness, are ever-present and that we are all siblings in the Family of Light.

What we often miss is that the many things and people that we, in this physical realm, think to be perfect manifestations of the creative force of nature, have often been altered to appear perfect and are actually no longer natural. The ideal of natural perfection is an unnatural lie.

Alternately, we embrace the image of self because we have ego, because we KNOW that we are manifest in a body and that this body has eyes, a nose, a mouth, a face and a shape. We know this is true, because we can see and feel it.

Now, looking in the mirror, we might look at ourself as simply a physical thing, a manifest object comprised of matter, just like the candle or the match that we used to light the candle. We are just matter and we will eventually die and decay. But, hang on. WE can make choices, can lay up late at night thinking, can reproduce, can form religions, can create with our hands, we can cry and love and feel anger.

Then are we really just matter? Are we not something more advanced, a spirit, a personality incarnate?

Personality and thought are not physical functions. Yes, they are powered by physical functions, but this is only to bridge the gap between the spirit and the body. How does gas power a car? By combustion, which is achieved by a physical process that changes the state of the gas. The brain is the method of conversion for the fuel that is the spirit, but the spirit is always the necessary fuel for life. When our engine gets clogged we need only look at the poor state of a neglected spirit to find the cause.

So now that we can look at ourself in the mirror and see ourself as more than simply this flesh, but as a sentient spiritual being moving about in a living phyical body, we can begin to value our connection to things beyond the physical realm.

Look into the mirror and scan your visage, see the light within the body and the light, the lifeglow, surrounding it.

While doing this exercise with the candle, or the mirror, embrace the light of life, the energy of creation and your connection to all that is. Now repeat: “I believe in my divine self, I know of it, because I can feel it within me, because I can see its presence in my life.”

Repeat this phrase, but not mindlessly. Repeat it while feeling the truth of it well up inside your heart. Feel the energy of the divine self and the energy of your connection to the universe and all creation buzzing around the surface of your skin.

Repeat the phrase, or modify it if another, more suitable, phrase comes to your mind. Think to yourself of your divine self making contact with your manifest self.

Open yourself to the reality of your divine self and open your heart to the possibility of communication with that higher self, and see what comes of it in your life.

You may repeat this exercise every moon cycle, best at the new moon, for as long as you feel it is necessary to build this relationship with the higher self and to draw it closer to your waking understanding.
