The Path-working of Pregnancy

And, with hand on my heart, I reemerge from human creation to bring forth this other brief creation…

It has been several months since any new articles have been appearing here on Awaken Light and I have finally stepped into the daylight to birth this story for you today.

My absence has been both spiritually and physically prescribed for me by the universe. My beloved soul mate, Serge, and I are, at present, expecting our first child. A miraculous turn-of-events and a unique shift in his, and my, daily focus.

The metamorphosis going on within my body has drawn all of my energy and attention for many months now. All spiritual pursuits have been swept aside and my grasp on myself has been necessarily loosened. The gauntlet has been thrown down that has challenged us both to simply allow and embrace, as change and beauty have taken on different meanings in our lives, day by day.

Though some of my spiritually-minded, health conscious friends have managed to keep up with these ideals during pregnancy, I myself cannot imagine yoga or meditation in the same light at the present moment. What inspires me has become much more simple than that. Peaceful morning mist on the seashore, a hearty home-cooked meal, the words of ancient poets and the sound of a baby’s heartbeat. These are the keys to my heart while in pregnancy. Some may call it mundane, but I see it as a different form of the One divine.

Of course, there is certainly nothing mundane about two souls mingling their energies in loving creation and then inviting another divine spirit to inhabit that creation. It is, however, a very physical process. It can remove one, somewhat involuntarily, from dwelling on the spiritual mysteries of life and ground you sharply in physicality, at least for a time.

When I look upon this process with awareness and non-judgement I can see its mechanisms more clearly. For the one carrying the child, and I think for the fathering partner as well, it is a path-working, a catharsis, requiring reassessment of both self and selflessness. The shamans would recognize it as a meeting with inner truth.

As you grapple with this life-changing event, you begin to assess your own childhood, your experiences with children, how you became the adult that you are, and also what you still wish to achieve in life. Positive Messages

As you walk a deliberate path of awareness, opening yourself to your higher nature and a deeper connection with the waking and non-waking worlds, you develop an increased sense of compassion and sensitivity to the needs and vibrations of your own spirit and of other living beings.

You also may find that this increased sensitivity manifests itself in unexpected ways. Perhaps you begin to experience psychic abilities, reading the thoughts right out of your loved ones heads, only moments before they are spoken. Perhaps you are becoming more attuned to nature, knowing what the weather will be without needing to consult the news or getting “warning” feelings just before a large natural occurrence such as earthquakes and floods. Perhaps you simply find yourself unable to hear about, or witness images of, human suffering, on large and small scales, without bursting into tears or getting tense in your body.

If any of this sounds familiar to you, you are not alone. Quite the contrary, you are experiencing a place in your spiritual awareness that is common to seekers and those who walk the path of deliberate ascension or self-development. For much of my life my sensitive nature has been a source of both frustration and suffering, sometimes for me and sometimes for those around me. Being aware on a spiritual level may put you at ease while putting those around you on edge, making them feel as if the slightest conflict, criticism or stress will cause you greater upheaval and upset than it would cause them. It can be difficult to understand and more difficult to embrace, both from within and without.

Feeding Others

Life can be confusing sometimes. Even the simple act of getting everything that needs doing completed each day can turn our heads round and make us forget that we are living a unique life and that we are individual bits of divine spirit energy. To be honest with you I am known to be a huge procrastinator and often several days can go by without me pausing to take notice of life, spirit or my connections to others.

Over the years I have gotten much better at doing things that need doing, even if I don’t feel particularly motivated to do them, at least more often than I used to. Like when dishes need washing, I use the “just do 5 dishes” mentality and, inevitably, I end up doing 20. Starting is the hardest part.

Days are the same way. Starting them may not be as hard as picking up your tax forms and filling them out, but how you start you day most certainly sets the pattern for how the remainder of your day will flow (or stagnate.)

Oddly enough, my own busy-ness and procrastination, which are always in the way of me starting or completing things, seem to end right at the place where my comfort and desires begin. In other words, I never have trouble finding the time to bake brownies or getting up and starting a new knitting project. Those things are easy to remember and to place priority on. Yet, publication deadlines, jogging, paying bills and mopping the floors can get pushed back for weeks and even months.

I suppose you could call this self-indulgence, and in some instances our distracted mind can fall into such a “pleasure and comfort” pattern. But, in most people’s case, it is so much more than just that.

Symbolism, Divination and Intuition

I get many, many emails about tarot interpretations which, along with dream and rune interpretations, seem to be some of the most popular interests of people just beginning to delve into the psychic realms.

The funny thing about them is that they are great door-openers, so to speak, for people looking to begin living with more intuition and who wish to develop their own psychic abilities. And yet, they are some of more widespread blockages that end up standing in people’s way along the path.

I am not saying that I never use these tools, I most certainly do. What I am saying is that people can get so hung up in the interpretation of the symbols, in analyzing the tool, that they forget the actual implementation of it.

Divinatory Symbolism

Symbolic interpretation is a means to an end. It gives you insight by externalizing the search for information. These tools are intended as a means to overstep the guardian Ego, and get it to come along on your search for intuitive or spiritual advice about generally mundane concerns and subjects.

In my work as an intuitive and channel, I have met a plethora of people who are distinctly addicted to divination. They do not make a decision without consulting their cards, or having someone else consult cards for them. And they’re own personal energy or mood is easily changeable based upon the dream symbols, runes or tarot cards that dance before them.

Time As A Spiral

Time Spiral

Channeling From the Universe:

If you watch time you will see that it is not a line or a layer cake but a spiral, long and winding, unending ever-repeating.

What is the spiral is the energy of creation and manifestation, the ebb and flow of all energies, all form.

What comes once will come again, and an opportunity missed will be offered once more, in time.

When you see time as a line you limit your self-perception and make your separation from the source even more definite.

When you embrace nature and time as the spirals for which they truly are you may be free from fear and worry, you may relinquish both desire and regret.

For what can be wrong in the spiral?

What is, simply is, and all is repeated so long as the energy vibration of their existence is present in the existence of All.

As each thing is born and dies, and yet is ever-present in one form or another, never truly GONE or DISSOLVED, the only way that a thing may not recur in the spiral is for it to be transmuted.

Nothing can be ended per se, only changed at the core essence and thence become something else.

If we do not manifest that which we desire at some point in time and yet find that we somehow are never given the opportunity again at another point in time, the only answer must be that we have manifested it in its transmuted state, as another thing.

Perhaps it may have been unrecognizable from its perceived essence and yet, nevertheless, we have accepted it into our life and it has played its role for us in transmuted form.

Thus all thought is manifestation and to bring light we must think light.

Only our actions, our energy and our thoughts have the power to transmute, to make darkness into light.

And if you cannot think it, cannot believe it in your core spirit essence, then it simply cannot be.

To Perceive Life

Being Afriad

As an addition to my Medium Adventures series, a reader recently asked me this question….Should you be afraid of being a medium?

It is an interesting question. And one that several people who have “accidentally” or “purposely” developed this skill over time have probably been faced with.

To be honest because I am a trained witch, meaning a “wise woman,” who has been exposed to the paranormal on a regular basis since I was fifteen, I never really had this concern at all.

But religion and dogma are just a doorway to true spirituality. Many of us are now becoming “spiritual” and slowly dropping the restrictive “religious” approach to self development.

With this in mind, the gifted mediums who are now beginning to blossom and step onto the stage, myself included, come from all different backgrounds and carry with them a wide array of beliefs and understandings.

You may have come to this path through Buddhism, or Catholicism or through Judaism. Where you came from denotes how you will react to the realization that you are starting to develop certain abilities.

This is what annoys me about some of the blogs out there written by other psychic mediums: They speak in a pointed manner about all sorts of “negative” experiences that they’ve had.

Living in True Hope: For You & The Planet

I believe that we as humans are born hopeful. That we have an inherent light within us that lives in positivity, no matter what the circumstance. This is borne out by the repeated words and advice of the spirit guides.

It may not always be easy to remember and have faith in this inner light and, when looking outside of ourselves, to the Earth and the human community, we may more easily see evidence of darkness and despair. But the truth is that we are all creations of the infinite light, that hope is always with us waiting to shine upon our path.

This is true for both individuals and for the planet upon which we live.

Based on my own experience and the wisdom of the guides, here are some valuable actions that you can take to ensure the growth of hope, within your own life and the life of the Earth:

  • 1. Incorporate a practice of daily meditation into your life. This helps to empower your thinking, balance your energy and de-stress your life. It also helps you see the positive in more things, when the negative would seem to be more obvious. Meditation is a great regulator of stress, fear, high-blood pressure and depression. We are all spiritual beings living in these containers, known as the physical body.

The point of this agreement is to learn more of the spiritual reality of energetic awareness by experiencing the different points of view afforded us through the various human senses.

Of course each of us knows of the obvious reasons for using the human senses, the enjoyment of smelling a beautiful ripe strawberry or the inner excitement that comes from spotting a magnificent flower in bloom.

But the mark of awareness is being willing to see the beauty and benefits of all levels of creation, of both the manifest and the energetic life forces in all things.

The life energy embodied in fruits and vegetables gives up the building blocks for our own physical health. The essences of flowers can provided us with subtle energies that benefit us physically, mentally and spiritually.
